For the past ten years or so, I’ve been a great fan of Dean Radin (http://www.deanradin.org/) Chief Scientist at the Institute of Noetic Sciences and Associated Distinguished Professor at the California Institute of Integral Studies, and I am currently reading his latest book ‘Real Magic‘. Radin has authored hundreds of scientific papers, and to date, four popular books which have sold over 120,000 copies around the world.
Magic fascinates me – having quite a few ‘spooky experiences at a distance’ myself, and being described as ‘magical’ by a multi-million selling author, I am always interested in exploring what magic means, especially to scientists who tend towards a distinct and dismissive scepticism about its existence.
Radin’s book is as one would expect, well-written and highly readable, and covers a vast range of experiments, evidence, detailed exploration of the ‘genuine but hidden power’ of real magic, far removed from Houdini-like tricks and illusions, spells and fantasies. It’s a most rewarding read and I’ll report back when I’ve completed it.
In an early section of his book which explores ‘force of will’ magic, Radin references a little red book called quite simply ‘It Works’.
Written in the early 20th century, by a successful man who chose to remain anonymous, it’s essentially about the power of thought, of attention, of sustained focus and persistence, and is predicated on KNOWING WHAT YOU WANT.
It comes down to a simple (though not necessarily easy!) plan and three golden rules. There appears to be ample evidence that the title is accurate, and that the method of getting what you really want is effective.
I am not going to elucidate any further – if you are interested in this, the book is still in print, available through Amazon, and on Kindle.
In the spirit of ‘pass it on’, and as it says in this little book:
“Great is the reward to those who help and give without thought of self,
as it is impossible to be unselfish without gain.”
Here is my gift to you, with Love
